Mission Statement

The Remember My Kids Foundation, Inc was established to provide financial support and educational scholarships to children of United States soldiers who have been killed or critically injured while serving their country. Additionally RMK will support the children of police officers and firefighters in Boston, New York City, and Washington, DC who have killed in the line of duty.

Remember My Kids, Inc is organized for exclusively charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.

History of the Remember My Kids Foundation

The Remember My Kids Foundation was founded in 2006 by Alex Wayman but the history of his charitable work dates back to the summer of 2004 in Washington, DC. As a senior at Georgetown University, Alex decided to embark on a partnership with Walter Reed Medical Center, the Wounded Warrior Project and Georgetown Athletics. Through his weekly visits to the hospital, events with Georgetown athletics, and multiple fundraising campaigns, Alex developed a unique bond with the injured soldiers at Walter Reed.

Before his graduation in 2005, Alex approached Merrill Lynch as a corporate sponsor to develop formal partnership between Georgetown Athletics and the Wounded Warrior Project to continue bringing the Walter Reed patients to Georgetown basketball games. Since his work, the University community and Athletic department played a major role in the healing process for injured soldiers and will continue to do so into the future.

After a visit to the Pentagon and a meeting in the office of the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff in October of 2006, Alex realize his efforts needed to focused on children of those who had been severely injured or killed during war. Remember My Kids was launched as a bipartisan charity in hopes of raising awareness and money for the educational needs for those children who lives’ have been changed forever. As the charity grows, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC fire and police departments will also be supported.

Remember My Kids Foundation concentrates fundraising efforts in Boston, New York, and Washington, DC through social functions, auctions, private donations, and corporate sponsorships. It is our mission to provide financial assistance for education opportunities for those children who parents have sacrificed for the United States. We are, Remembering the Kids.
